On January 15, 2025, within the framework of the 6th Vietnam National Forum on Digital Technology Enterprise Development, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) announced and presented the Make in Vietnam 2024 Digital Technology Product Awards. This annual event recognizes outstanding digital technology products developed by Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to the construction of a sustainable digital economy and affirming Vietnam’s position in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The award ceremony was attended by General Secretary Tô Lâm, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, along with representatives from various ministries, agencies, and leading technology enterprises.
Among the honored digital technology products, VertZéro was ranked in the Top 10 Outstanding Digital Technology Products in the Agriculture, Resources, and Environment category. As Vietnam has committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050, FPT is currently one of the first organizations to provide a greenhouse gas inventory solution in Vietnam – VertZéro, which helps businesses calculate, track, and minimize carbon emissions. VertZéro utilizes AI and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to automate data collection from documents such as invoices and reports while offering emission trend forecasting based on international standards such as the GHG Protocol and IPCC. Notably, VertZéro comprehensively calculates all three emission scopes (Scope 1, 2, 3) and provides emission reduction planning tools in line with SBTi standards.
Also included in the Top 10 Outstanding Digital Technology Products in the Education, Healthcare, Culture, and Social sectors, VioEdu, an online education system, continues to assert its leading role in Vietnam’s digital education transformation. Launched in 2019, VioEdu was developed with the mission of enhancing learning quality through AI and Big Data technology. Today, VioEdu leads the market in sales and influence within Vietnam’s education sector, with estimates showing that one in three Vietnamese students has used the platform for self-learning. The platform boasts over 20 million users and more than 1 billion practice sessions annually. Its success is not only reflected in its growth figures but also in widespread recognition, consistently ranking as the top education app in Vietnam and winning numerous prestigious technology awards both domestically and internationally.
In the Finance, Banking, Commerce, and Services category, Volar FINEX, a core financial software, was named one of the Top 10 Outstanding Digital Technology Products. As the financial and banking industry undergoes rapid transformation, traditional financial institutions face increasing pressure to modernize, not only to maintain operational efficiency but also to innovate and stay competitive. As Vietnam’s first and only locally developed financial core system, Volar FINEX, created by FPT, was designed to provide financial institutions with a modern, flexible, and secure operational tool. Compared to traditional core banking systems, Volar FINEX reduces customer costs by 60%, offering prices that are only one-third to one-half of international core solutions, while cutting transaction processing time by 30%—all while meeting the strictest requirements in the financial sector. Since its launch in 2023, Volar FINEX has been deployed to three financial institutions in Vietnam, serving approximately 17 million customers across banks and financial firms. In the first nine months of 2024, the solution generated revenue of VND 45.1 billion from clients such as Sacombank Leasing and HDBank.
The Make in Vietnam Award is a well-deserved recognition of FPT’s relentless efforts and continuous innovation in developing digital technology products that embody Vietnamese intelligence and creativity. The award-winning solutions not only reaffirm FPT’s commitment to the national digital transformation mission but also demonstrate its aspiration to elevate Vietnam’s technological standing on the global stage, contributing to the development of an advanced and sustainable digital economy.
